Music Playback Issue Using Internal DAC

  • Hello,

    I just purchased a UDP800 on August 7, 2025.

Using the internal DAC of the unit and when playing CD's, SACD's and Blue-Ray Audio discs, I have noticed that the unit ramdoly will stop or hesitate to play music for one microsecod or so, then it continues playing the current track.

This happens ramdomly and it is not the disc, since I have gone backwards on the affected track to just a little before when the "blip" happened and it does not happen again.

It happens several times during the play back of a music disc.

I do NOT see any issues when I watch movies using the HDMI 1 output.

I have not tried playig the music discs via HDMI to determine if the blips/skips take place or not as well.

I suspect it could be something to do with the internal clock of the internal DAC.

I have updated the firmware to the latest available: 948-USA01, built on August 8, 2025 and still the issue persists.

Thank you in advance for taking a look at this.

  • Hello,

Have you opened a support ticket for this? That would be the path to take as there can be many causes both in and outside of the player.

  • @Magnetar Concierge Not yet. I was not sure if that was the desired action first or post it here. I will do the ticket.

The issue is worse when using HDMI.

    Thanks.

  • @Magnetar Concierge I have just opened a support ticket, but I have not received a confirmation of such via email yet.

    Thanks.

  • @Pierre Martinez Hi Pierre, you would want to mention this in the support correspondence , however, that would preclude the issue from being in the DAC. The support team will work with you to make sure your settings are correct from the player and eassily confirm if the issue is internal or external to the player itself.

  • @Pierre Martinez Hi Pierre, if you just opened the ticket, allow them reasonable time to respond to you. Thanks

  • @Magnetar Concierge Thanks. I have mentioned the HDMI case as well in the support ticket.

  • @Pierre Martinez perfect.

  • By going to SETTINGS/OPTIONS/LOAD DEFAULTS and also turning the physical switch off and back on again, they issue was solved.

Seemed like the firmware update did not "stick" until the aforementioned steps were taken.

Thanks for all the help; great customer service.
