Thank you for the feedback and for picking up the rack kit so quickly, we appreciate the enthusiasm.
The kit is designed to secure the player to the rack while the chassis itself remains supported by the rack rails or shelf, which is typical practice for heavier AV components.
The ears are intended primarily to locate and stabilize the player rather than carry the full load from the front.
Regarding the mounting holes, most installations use standard threaded rack rails. Racks using square-hole cage nut rails can sometimes require slightly different screw positioning depending on the rail manufacturer, which may explain why you’re only able to align one screw per side in your rack.
The ears comply fully with standard EIA standard rack spacing between holes, so there's something else amiss here.
Also, if your rack uses standard EIA spacing (the same pattern used for threaded rails and square-hole/cage-nut rails), the rail type itself isn’t what changes hole alignment. If you’re only able to land one screw per side, it’s typically due to one of two things: (1) the ears being started on the wrong hole within the 3-hole “U” pattern, or (2) the specific rack rail/trim tolerances.
If only one screw is lining up, it usually means the ear started on the middle hole of the U rather than the top.
As for the vertical spacing, the player chassis itself is slightly shorter than a full 2U height, so when rack mounted there may be a small gap depending on the rail positioning and rack tolerances.
We’re glad to hear the player itself is performing well in your system and appreciate you taking the time to share the feedback.
Best regards,
