With some 4K movies the disc drive gets very noisy for the first 10 mins of the movie and again at around 75% of the duration of the movie. It is probably around 50% of the 4K movies I have. Normal blu rays are much quieter.
I replaced some discs and in some cases the noise disappeared, on others persisted.
Same here. Both of my 800's are *extremely* noisy with 75% of UHD discs. Some discs sound positively loud, almost like an espresso machine. My Oppo 203's are whisper quiet in comparison. I hope this has been impoved on the newly announced MKII model.
Perhaps the new MKII will fix that.
I just don't see myself buying a new one in the near future for that price.
I do hope the new models fix this. It is my main gripe with these players. I love the rest. But I was really hoping for an entry-level model without any audio bells and whistles under $1K.
I would also love to have more than 1 USB input (not counting the front one).

Arrived here looking for solutions for a loud disc drive on my newly arrived MK2...
So can confirm, it was not solved with the MK2. Will see what the support team has to say.
