IP Control (using remotes like Unfolded Circle, etc.)

  • Hello!

I just received my 800 MKII, and it is a great machine so far!  I did see in the drivers page that it is capable of IP control, and obviously, as there is a phone app that works, that is true - is there a list somewhere similar to what OPPO provided as seen in the link below that would detail the IP commands / setup so we can get these devices integrated into universal remotes such as the Unfolded Circle, which aren't dealer-sold devices like C4, Crestron, etc.?

    https://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-udp-203/blu-ray-udp-203-Support.aspx

There are quite a few integrations for various players out there, but none for Magnetar yet, so right now we are stuck with IR blasting.

If there was a command list / setup protocol that would make integration easier, that would be amazing!

    Thanks

Update - received some email comms from Magnetar and am working with the person who made the Oppo integration to try and get this running.

Sounds like you need to both send commands and query the device for status info.  We will see if we can work out getting this going!

  • I too have the UF remote and am using IR.  Magnatar sent me pronto codes and Oppo codes most work but not all.   Would love to have IP!!

I've been working with him to get this up and running.  He's still working with me to tweak some wake on lan commands since it works intermittently with the initial code, but I think we may have found a solution for the next release.  But so far all other commands work pretty much every time, so that's one less IR controlled device right now

  • @Ben S the github page showss "Oppo" but is it for the MKII?

  • @Texas Steve correct, the latest release incorporates both.  when you go to set up the integration, you can choose the magnetar from the dropdown menu

they use similar commands so the same guy combined it all into one integration
