MY Magnetar 800 won't play DTS audio on DVD-Audio discs. It will play Dolby 5.1. It will play DTS audio on blu-ray discs. The Magnetar is set to Bitstream and I have no problems with other formats and discs, only DVD-Audio. I tried switching to DVD-Video but the it won't play DTS. This goes for every DVD-Audio disc I own.

You have a local settings issue as the Magnetar has no issues sending DTS bitstream Audio from a DVD-Audio disc to an AVR. It is no different than DTS bitstream audio on a DVD. The player passes the bitstream to your AVR as it is on the disc. It's not possible for the player to do anything else other than PCM, which is the only other setting available, or if bitstream enabled, pass the bitstream to the AVR regardless of Dolby or DTS formats. WIth bitstream, it literally passes the bitstream from the disc to the AVR directly. We recommend checking your AVR settings.
To be clear -
If you are trying to listen to the DVD-A audio layer, you need to have DVD-Audio selected in the player menu.
If you are just trying to listen to the DTS/Dolby layer, you need to select DVD-Video as that is where those layers are.
The player does not "play" those audio tracks, it sends the bitstream data to the AVR. If Dolby works, DTS works as they are both bitstream and if the discs have both, you need to select which format you want the player to send in the disc menu. The player doesnt care what format it is, its just a bitstream.
You may want to check your player OSD HDMI Output screen to see what the player is sending out based on your settings and what the player is being told to send from your AVR (supported formats)
