How do I open the remote?

  Hi, I just bought a Magnetar UDP 900, and I can't figure out how to open the back of the remote to install the batteries. I read the Owner's Manual, and the directions were less than helpful. There's a drawing of the back of the remote, with a down arrow to open, and an up arrow to close. Since there's isn't an obvious battery cover like the majoriy of remotes, I assume the enitire back slides off; but try as I might, I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!   I've tried to open the remote control by pressing and sliding, it is like glued together. Can't open it. Any other suggestion? Any particular area needs to be pressed because pressing on the arrow doesn't help.
