I am curious if adding a blank, formatted USB memory stick to the rear USB port would provide any additional system memory to help the player perform better? I know the Panasonic 9000 says it can be done and is a good thing to add, but does that work with the 800?

Hi Jack, welcome to the forums!
We've not seen a player which would use USB as we think you are detailing. We are aware that USB storage is used for BDLive content storage, but not as memory available for increasing system performance as it seems you are describing.
